Exploration Field Technician Level 2

Hancock Prospecting has become the most successful private company ever in Australia’s history and the planned growth of operations makes it one of the most successful privately-owned mining companies in the World. With the ramp up of operations, and multiple exploration sites that are planned to feed into the overall system.

In order to support this growth, the company is now looking to recruit a highly experienced Field Technician Level 2.  FIFO out of Perth on an 15/13 roster, key role responsibilities include:

  • Working safely in accordance with HPPL procedures and guidelines
  • Capability to risk asses out of scope tasks with JHAs
  • Timely and accurate recording of sample data and core processing information
  • Conduct SWMS development and review
  • Conduct and coordinate preparation and rehabilitation of drill sites to GDP requirements including monitoring the quality of contractor operators work
  • Prepare and maintain vehicles and other exploration infrastructure prior, during and post field duties, ensuring daily pre-start checks are carried out and faults reported.
  • Conduct bore relocation and set up in relation to SWMS including use of HIAB crane
  • Ground-truthing including assessment of machinery requirements, duration or preparation activities and any access issues for upcoming site preparation
  • Reporting and handovers
  • Planning for consumable use and assistance with ordering

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have previous experience in similar role across a variety of exploration environments
  • Have excellent communication and time management skills
  • Hold an Australian manual HR licence with 4WD experience and mechanical aptitude
  • Hold a high risk lifting and dogging licence
  • Be experienced with GPS, sample management software and MS Office programs

Experience with GIS applications, acQuire and high-risk licences will be highly regarded.
